Tour Plan

Day 1 : Assemble at Shoghi and Overnight Stay

Shoghi is a tiny piece of paradise few kilometres short of Shimla. Aamod at Shoghi is a beautiful cottage resort built on a gentle hill slope, under a thick cover of oak and pine trees. Stay the night in the wooden cottages and get familiar with the hospitality of Aamod Resorts.

Day 2 : Drive from Shoghi to Pabbar Valley

Pabbar Valley is around 100kms ahead of Shimla in Himachal Pradesh and located in the still untouched and non-touristy mountains amongst the most prosperous apple orchard belt of India, with deep forests of deodar and oak. The route to Pabbar Valley branches off the old Hindustan-Tibet Road from Theog. We will be staying the night at Tethys by the riverside. Great location for trout fishing, sightseeing and trekking in the area.

Day 3 : Drive From Pabbar Valley to Tapri

Moving alongside Pabbar river, this day you will move to another beautiful part of unknown Himachal, Tapri. Tapri is a picturesque old-fashioned village in the Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh. The village has a couple of hundred families staying in the area and is a welcome break from anything commercial or city-like. We will be staying the night in a mix of comfortable tents and rooms in the village.

Day 4 : Tapri to Kaza

On this day we will enter the Spiti valley through the Kalpa – Sumdo – Tabo route and enter the monastic valley, Spiti. We will be covering a little over 200 kilometres this day crossing some of the most remote parts of the valley and crossing Tabo and Dhankar monasteries on our way. We will be staying the night at Kaza.

Day 5 : Explore Kaza

This is an important day of the expedition where we will be exploring Spiti valley. One can travel up towards the renowned Kibber, Langza and Komic villages or learn a few things about the tribal and monastic way of life. This region still has a number of tribal villages away from the hustle of city life and one can spend time covering the monasteries such as Tabo monastery, dhankar monastery, kungri monastery in pin valley, key monastery among many others some of which are centuries old.

Day 6 : Kaza to Pooh

Testing your off-roading skills, we will be crossing a challenging route on this day to Reach Pooh. A small old-fashioned town in the Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh, Pooh is 58 km from Powari village along National Highway 22. It is known for its natural environment, green fields, apricot orchards, vineyards and almond trees. Inscriptions suggest that Poo was an important trading centre in the early 11th century. At Pooh, we will be staying the night at a mixed tented and room accommodation.

Day 7 : Pooh to Narkanda

This day we drive from Pooh to Narkanda, once again getting familiar with the world that we had lost touch with in the past few days. We stay the night at Tethys Himalayas; an old Colonial style resort nestled between thick forest cover and apple orchards.

Day 8 : Bid adieu to Narkanda

This day, we bid good bye to the majestic mountains and our new friends for all good things must come to an end.
